Lent Devotionals

The season of Lent is an invitation for us to seek God as we prepare for Easter. Committing to a regular practice of prayer, bible reading and reflection in Lent can be a great way to get to know God better through this time. There are a wealth of resources to help us do this. Below are a couple of excellent digital resources available for free to use as individuals, couples and families.

Watch and pray

The Church of England has daily reflections for Lent. This year’s resources have been inspired and informed by the 2024 Archbishop of Canterbury’s Lent book, Tarry Awhile: Wisdom from Black Spirituality for people of faith by Selina Stone.

Search the App Store or Google Play Store for ‘Watch and Pray’. Each day has a reflection for the day. Scroll down for the family reflection. Both reflections can be read or listened to.

Lectio 365 - Wilderness tales

The Lectio365 app from 24/7 Prayer Lent series is titled ‘Wilderness Tales’. Through Lent the reflections will focus on seasons of Wilderness in our lives as we prepare to celebrate Easter. Together we will reflect on the stories of Biblical characters and communities and how they lean on God and each other in seasons of wilderness.

Search the App Store or Google Play Store for ‘Lectio 365’ or ‘Lectio for Families’.
