Staff Team
Revd Caroline Taylor (Vicar)
Caroline was licenced as Vicar of St Cuthberts in July 2021. Before that, she was curate at St John’s, Hoxton in London. She trained at Cranmer Hall, Durham University where she first discovered the loveliness of the North East.
Prior to being ordained, she had a career in archaeology as a field archaeologist and then consultant. Alongside that she was involved in a youth project in the East End of London.
"I love learning and I especially love exploring the Bible with people - whether you've read it a hundred times or never before, there is always something new to spot. I am excited to see how God is at work in Marton, Easterside and Coulby Newham, bringing abundant life to all different types of people"
Revd Sam Tyndall (Pioneer Minister)
Sam has been an Associate Minister at St Cuthberts since July 2019. Sam was appointed by Bishop Paul as a Pioneer Minister for Coulby Newham. Sam oversees our 4pm Congregation, Church in a Building, a new Church community with a particular focus on families and young adults in Coulby Newham who don’t currently go to church. Sam is part of the Multiply Reach team in the Diocese of York. Before coming to St Cuthbert’s, Sam was curate at St Barnabas, Linthorpe.
Alan Proudler (Churchwarden)
Alan has been Churchwarden at St Cuthberts since 2012.
‘It has been a great honour and pleasure to serve in that role for nearly nine years. I first began to worship at St Cuthberts in 2004 after the death of my father and encouragement from my wife Linda. Rev'd Mike Proctor was vicar at that time and I began to look forward to his sermons which always seemed to be directed at me. The welcome and friendliness of the congregation encouraged me to become more involved. An Alpha Course was the start of my journey to confirmation, the journey isn't over and I look forward to the next phase and welcoming a new incumbent.’
Dennis Ford (Churchwarden)
Dennis was elected as Churchwarden at the APCM in March 2021. Previously he served as Churchwarden at St Agnes Church, Easterside.
‘I was married at St Agnes many years ago, and have been churchwarden for about nine years until it was closed and merged with St Cuthbert’s on 1st March 2021. I have been worshipping at St Cuthbert’s since January 2020 and was honoured to be asked if I would take up the same role here. I am looking forward to a new challenge, meeting new friends and keeping in touch with old ones on Easterside.‘
